Hertfordshire, A British Landscape

A sense of place,  from woodland  to rolling hills and pubs.

My Hertfordshire paintings aren't intended simply to record a particular view.

I'm more interested in the experience of being there: the light through the trees, the quiet of woodland, the openness of the countryside or the sudden drama of changing weather.

Hertfordshire is the landscape around me, but it is also a reminder that you don't always have to travel far to find something worth painting.
